O pozitsii E. S. Bogoslovskogo otnositel'no glav, napisannykh Iu. Ia. Perepelkinym dlia "Istorii drevnego Vostoka' (po arkhivnym materialam T. N. Savel'evoi) [E. S. Bogoslovskiy on chapters by Yu. Ya. Perepelkin for the ‘History of Ancient East’ (according to T. N. Savelieva’s archive materials)]

The archive of T  N. Savelieva contains a unique letter from a Russian Egyptologist E. S. Bogoslovskiy, in which he discusses the legacy of his teacher Yu. Ya. Perepelkin. In particular, the letter mentions chapters that he wrote for the academic ‘History of the Ancient East’ (HAE). They formed the basis of the second volume of the HAE published in 1988. However, later these chapters were re-published by a publishing house ‘Summer Garden’ as a separate book ‘History of Ancient Egypt’ edited by A. L. Vassoevich (2000). During E. S. Bogoslovskiy’s life, T. N. Savelieva proposed him such publication. The scholar refused. In this article, E. S. Bogoslovskiy’s major objections to republishing of the chapters are presented.
