Ikonografiia batal'nykh stsen v khrame Beit-el'-Vali [Iconography of battle scenes in the Beit el-Wali temple]

The temple of Beit El-Wali was erected near modern Aswan in the reign of Ramesses II. A key element of the iconographic program of this monument was battle scenes illustrating the king’s battles and victories over his enemies. The article is devoted to studying battle compositions in Beit El-Wali, identifying their role and significance for development of the battle ‘genre’ in the art of Ancient Egypt during the reign of Ramesses II.
