Mumii i mumifikatsiia v kul'ture raznykh narodov [Mummies and mummification in different cultures]

In course of studying a technique of Egyptian mummification, major methods of preserving remains of the deceased used by different nations are observed. While working with artificially mummified remains, it is important to find out what factors could contribute to preserving a body. This allows soundly assuming on why it was decided to preserve a deceased’s remains and chose a particular method for it. The paper presents a brief review of evidence for performing a rite of artificial mummification by different nations. Separate procedures for preserving bodies of the deceased are described.
