In the autumn of 2017 (October 21 — November 28), the Centre for Egyptological Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (CES RAS) held the 13th archaeological season at Deir el-Banat (Fayum Oasis). The works of the Mission were conducted simultaneously in several directions: archeological research in the squares III.E17–III.E18; study of anthropological material; study of archaeological textiles; study of finds of the previous years and as well as the ones found in the current season; conservation and restoration of found objects. Besides, on the concession area was carried out an archaeological survey aimed at finding materials of the Paleolithic appearance. Studies conducted in 2017 allowed us to develop the preliminary typology of burials, to come a little closer
to understanding the relative chronology of the necropolis as well as to defining the absolute one.
